Principal Investigator

Rihui Li, Ph. D.,  李日辉

Lab Director Assistant Professor

Dr. Rihui Li is currently an Assistant Professor in the Center for Cognitive and Brain Sciences (CCBS) at the University of Macau. He obtained his Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Houston. Before joining UM, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and the Center for Interdisciplinary Brain Sciences Research (CIBSR) at Stanford University.

Dr. Li’s research focuses on developing multimodal brain imaging algorithms and computational approaches to advance our understanding of the neural mechanisms underlying typical and atypical human behaviors (e.g., social interaction, cognitive impairment, creative thinking).

Doctoral Students

Yuhang Li

Yuhang Li is a third-year Ph.D. student in the lab. Prior to joining the Li Lab, he received his Bachelor’s degree from East China Normal University. He is interested in investigating the neural mechanisms that underlie the social impairment present in autism spectrum disorder (ASD), by utilizing a range of methodologies, such as EEG, fNIRS, fMRI, and hyperscanning. His Ph.D. project has three primary objectives: 1) To explore the atypical inter-brain synchrony underlying social impairment in children with ASD through the implementation of hyperscanning techniques. 2) To elucidate the connections between inter-brain synchrony and other characteristics of ASD social impairments. 3) To construct computational models that can forecast the longitudinal development of ASD based on a multi-modal interpersonal synchrony profile.

Shuo Guan

Shuo is a second-year PhD student in the lab. she graduated with a B.E. in electronic information science and technology from Jilin University, and a M.E. degree in biomedical engineering from Dalian University of Technology. Shuo has always been committed to contributing to the well-being of mankind. She is interested in exploring brain changes in the elderly and assisting in improving their cognitive function.

Danayong Feng

Danyong is a first-year PhD student in the lab. He graduated with a BPhil degree in logic from Sun Yat-sen University and a MSc degree in Cognitive Neuroscience from University of Macau. His research interests lie in the application of machine learning methods to enhance understanding of cognitive processes. Specifically, he is interested in utilizing neural networks in MRI analysis to uncover intricate patterns and relationships within brain imaging data.
